Venetian blinds shall be provided for all windows in occupied spaces unless otherwise directed by the University. See Division 13 20 10 – Classroom Design for further references to General Purpose Classroom document that includes information on window coverings.
Venetian blinds shall conform to the current specification of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services or as approved by the University.
Venetian blinds should be mounted so they do not interfere with the operation of the window. Also, there should be no less than three (3) inches of clearance between the blind and the glass when the blind is in the drawn-up position so that the window washers can clean this portion of glass without injuring their hands.
