Mechanical Design Details

The mechanical details provided below are intended for use by Consultants preparing any design documentation on University construction projects. Whenever project scope includes the installation or modification of any systems, equipment, or other conditions which are reasonably covered by any of the details provided in this library, the contents of the applicable details shall be used as the basis of design. While graphical modifications are permitted to match the Consultant's graphical standards, the technical contents of the detail are intended to be used verbatim within the contract documents. Technical modification of any of these details to meet specific project conditions shall be reviewed and approved by Design and Engineering Services. However, this library of details is not exhaustive to all construction applications. The Consultant shall use this library of standard details along with any Consultant-provided details to ensure complete documentation of the project's scope of work.

Preferred Manufacturers

Whenever project scope includes new equipment which is indicated within the Mechanical Equipment Preferred Manufacturers List below, the project shall use the listed manufacturer(s) as the project's basis of design. Exceptions to the preferred manufacturers listed below shall be reviewed and approved by Design and Engineering Services.
