26 41 00 FACILITY LIGHTNING PROTECTION

.01 General

1. For new buildings, major renovations, and additions, perform a lighting risk assessment per NFPA 780.  Consult with Engineering Services to determine if a lightning protection system is required. 
2. System components shall be copper.
3. System installation shall be concealed within the building structure.
4. Design shall be included in Schematic Phase and included in all roof plans and elevations; on major projects discuss and incorporate in design prior to BOT Presentations.
